About Manic Attack
Manic Attack Pictures was started by Writer/Director's Christopher Burke and Tommy Walsh in the fall of 2007. After three failed attempts at getting the website up and running, Walsh and Burke were finally able to see the birth of their Manic child, on Halloween 2008. As they marched in the Halloween parade dressed as Obama and McCain in Manic jumpsuits waving a giant ManicAttack.com banner-you may have seen them hogging screen time on New York 1 in front of Ray's Pizza-they vowed to clean up the online comedy world...one dirty joke at at time. Since then they have been shooting and building this crazy universe of comedy with the help of over 50 New York actors and over a dozen crew members. And all of these human beings have been working for little to no pay in order to keep the laughs alive. Most of them are still speaking to us, which we see as a good thing.
The combined efforts of Team Manic awarded us a filmmaker of the month honor in February 2009 from syndication partner Openfilm.com.
The 2009 Webby Awards named ManicAttack.com as an honoree in the humor category alongside the likes of Funny or Die, My Damn Channel, and The Soup. (We love you Joel McHale). But seriously, we are a lucky bunch of jack asses who are having a fine time making the funny. We plan on doing the do until we receive too many death threats, and like Cat Stevens, escape to a life of prayer.
ManicAttack.com is truly a grass roots indie effort. The people who write and direct the comedy also sell the ad space, make the lunches, and wipe the noses of our wounded talent when on set in remote locales. (Ahem...New Jersey). We hope you enjoy traveling through our comedic universe and connecting the dots between the relationships of all of our Maniacs. Step back, take a deep breath and Embrace the ManiaI
P.S. Don't hesitate to contact us at any time with any questions or strange requests. Like Bill O'Riley, we're not afraid to "do it live...we'll do it FUCKIN LIVE!" All right then...
